Privacy Policy

What the app collects, where it is kept, who else sees it, and how to remove it.

The Short Version

Noura Insight collects what you tell it about your body and what you eat, so it can count and explain your day. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you.

What Is Collected

A username, and a password that is stored by Google Firebase Authentication in a form we cannot read. No email address and no phone number.

The profile you enter during setup: your name, age, sex, height, weight, activity level and goal. Your targets and your day to day history.

Every item you log, with its nutrition figures, the date, and an identifier tying it to your account.

Where It Is Kept

Your profile, your targets and your day history are stored on your device. Logged items are stored in Google Firebase Firestore, so they survive reinstalling the app, and are readable only by the account that wrote them.

Photos

A photo you scan is sent to Google for analysis. The app does not store the photo afterwards and does not upload it anywhere else. Only the resulting nutrition figures are kept.

The AI Features

Photo analysis and the chat run on Google Gemini through Firebase. Your question, along with the relevant parts of your own totals and history, is sent so the answer can reflect your day. Google processes this under its own terms and retention periods, which we do not control. Do not put anything in the chat you would not want processed by a third party.

Barcodes

Scanning a barcode sends only the barcode number to Open Food Facts, a public food database, to look up the product. Nothing about you is sent with it.

Who Else Sees It

Google, as the provider of the database, the sign in and the AI features, and Apple, which handles the subscription and never sends us your payment details. Nobody else. Your logs are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train anyone else's models by us.

Deleting Your Data

Deleting your account from the profile screen removes every meal and every weight you have recorded from the database, clears your profile and history from the device, and then closes the sign in. It happens while you wait and none of it can be undone.

Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the device, but not the account or the items in the database.

How Long It Is Kept

Logged items are kept until you delete them or the account is deleted. Day history older than 120 days falls off the device automatically.

Your Rights

You can see everything the app holds about you inside the app itself, correct any of it, and delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have a right to a copy of your data or to object to its processing; write to the support address in the App Store listing and we will act on it.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears here with a new date.
